The Best Self Tan

July 2, 2008

Now that everybody is out and about trying to get some color and having some fun I am starting to find a lot of guests looking for good bronzers and self tanning products. The process of finding a product can be a challenge. Having to invest in a product only to find out it didn't work, or it streaked, or it turned you orange can be aggravating.  Your solution is here!

Boots, Britain's Health and Beauty Expert, sold inside Target and CVS stores carries an amazing Sunless Tanning Starter Kit for only $9.99. This kit allows you to get a perfect sun-caressed (I'm tired of sunkissed) tan without the harmful effects of the sun. This kit includes great products for 3 simple steps to a perfect self tan. Step 1- No7 Brightening Body Buffer to exfoliate your skin and leave it soft and smooth. Step 2- No7 Quick Dry Foam for an even, streak-free tan. Step 3- No7 Perfect Finish Corrector Wipe for the confidence to know that you can erase any little mistakes you might make. I've tried this product and compared to professional stuff I've found in the tanning salosn, and this is by far one of the best I've used.

Many people have told me they like to partner it with the Botanics Golden Glow Body Lotion in order to get that healthy glow thats builds into a soft tan along with the instant effects of self tan.

However you like to self tan, here are a couple quick tips to getting the most out of your self tan:

1. Most self tanners take up to 4 hours before they fully develop. In many cases if you apply them under your makeup it could change the look that you were trying to aim for. Try waiting atleast 2 hours from the time you apply the selftanner to the time you try applying any product on top of it.

2. Do not use self tanning products immediately after cleansing. Most soaps/face washes contain a level of alkaline that counteracts the tanning product and leaves it orange. If you don't want to look orange, I would reccomend not applying self tanner to freshly cleansed skin.

3. Stay hydrated! Hydrated skin tans easier and allows for better osmosis into the skin of all products as well as tanning product. This means drink PLENTY of water and make love to the body butter. Exfoliating the skin also helps with both keeping your skin hydrated, as you are enriching healthier cells, as well as in keeping your self tan smooth and streak free.

 Enjoy!

XOXO

Three Tips For a Fabulous Summer!

July 1, 2008

Here in Washington State the sun is finally starting to come out and give us a much missed summer so I can only imagine how the rest of the country must be enjoying the weather. Here are three fun and easy tips to maximizing the way you enjoy your summer.

1. Pick up the latest summer read. Stretch out by the pool or the beach with your favorite drink in hand and read something amazing. It will feed your mind something new and stimulating. To be quite honest, the books this summer are turning out to be pretty great so it would be horrible to miss out on them.

2. Don't be afraid to tan. Everyone is always scattering around slathering on their SPF's and tucking away from the sun these days. With articles on Global Warming, Skin Cancer, and pollution in the environment people forget how much our bodies need and love the sun. Use your SPF, play safe, but it's summer so play hard too! Use a fun product like Lorac's Tantalizer to give you the sexy glow of someone who has better things to do then be afraid of the sun.

3. Wear a lipstick you've never dared to wear before. I've said it so many times that I'm starting to sound like a broken record but this summer is all about being bright. Lipstick is affordable to pick up and can change your entire appearance. Go for the sunny orange, the flowerry purple, or the daring red that you've always dreamed of but didn't have the courage to try out. You'll look amazing, you'll have fun, and people will love you for it.

Everything else aside, just enjoy the weather and everything that comes with it because who knows? It might be gone next month. Thanks for checking out my site, hope you're having a fabulous summer!

Makeup Q&A #3

June 24, 2008

Dear Bradley,

Q: Where can I find cheaper MAC cosmetics? I don't consider EBay an option because it isn't reliable.

A:

Being a MAC employee is generally a tough job. They make relatively low wages and have to work hard for a comission in order to get by in their fields. This makes it into something they have to love. MAC employees are required to wear the latest MAC collection at all times. But MAC releases new MAC shades ALL the time. So they aren't allowed to use their old shades anymore. What happens to them? Many MAC employees sell them to their buddies for a couple bucks to help earn back a little of what they will never use again.

So my reccomendation for you, since you seem to be against purchasing product off the internet is to develop relationships with your local MAC counter girls. Talk to them, get to know them, and buy from them. As you cultivate this relationship you may be able to buy some MAC product from them under the table.

Save your eye shadow pots too because you can trade them in for more product.

Another fun thing to try out is www.makeupalley.com which is a website where you can trade makeup with people around the world. I know you're against the internet, whatever, it's a nice website that is very community driven. These girls want their makeup too so it is very likely you will get yours.

Best wishes!

Ideal Eyes

June 18, 2008

So here in the summer of 2008 our cosmetics are looking at a much brighter scheme.

Our spring looks were muc more tame, and in my opinion just drab. In the world of cosmetics it is all about the color, the vivacity. Go bold or go home. Flaunt the lips, the eyes, the blush and everything in between. Makeup is all about how you choose to wear it.

That being said, Smashbox recently ran an event called "Ideal Eyes" where they sat guests down and did their eyes with colors that were perfect and in season for the guests specific eye color. I'd like to take a minute to discuss some colors that will be in the here and now for summer 2008.

 Blue Eyes:

I am going to start with blue because that's the color of my own eyes. Many people will reccomend certain browns for blue eyes, and in many cases that can work. But this summer is all about being bright and with that subject in mind you need to pick up Urban Decay's Mary Jane eyeshadow. It is a bang packed silver with blue undertones that will creater a killer frame for any set of baby blues. I would reccomend bringing it around under the eye as well.

Brown Eyes:

Who can forget our beautiful browns?  For brown eyes that stand out most people will agree on pinks and earthy tones and while I can definitely agree with that, I know the exact shade to give you pow your eyes deserve. MAC's Sushi Flower eye shadow is a gorgeous coral pink with just a slight hint of shimmer and a flawless satin finish. It has great pigment for going bold. If your eyes are a little more waterry brown as opposed to dark brown, then you might also appreciate MAC's Girlie, a rosy pink with the same satin finish.

Hazel/Brown/Green Eyes:

This is your season to shine! With all the glory of summer coming at us full blaze, your eyes will stand out more then ever. This season Stila has a brand new series of duo eye shadows for your luscious lids to drool over. For you I'd like to reccomend orchid, a duo of both light and dark purples allowing you to mix it up however you choose. To stay true to your natural tones is another set called Fandango, which mixes a lime green and a warm chocolate. Both colors are natural enough to be used with the shade of your eyes but bright enough to make a splash during the season.

 Good luck ladies!

Fashion Q&A

June 3, 2008

Question:

ohk so like my one friend looks awesome when she wheres flats (the shoes) and a cute top with straight leg jeans .. when i come to school in jeans uggs and most likely a shirt from hollister everyday .. i really wanna change my style to be like my friends but doubt ill be able to pull it off .. wht should i dooo?

Answer:

Abercrombie is a lifestyle brand and so all of their subsidiaries tend to stay in pretty much the same scope of clothing. If you have more then 3 Hollister shirts than you probably have the best of their collection. So let's steer you away from that!

With spring and summer coming coming just around the corner, now is a great time to break out with the skinny jeans and the flats. If you don't have them already, I would reccomend going to some place like Target and picking up a couple pairs that are cute and at a low price.

A good top would be one that is long and a little loose. With that you can wear a variety of colors and belts to coordinate your outfits. If you like to wear your hair up then you could definitely finish the look with thick hoop earrings, or other cool geometric ones. Certain types of jewelry can be a little gaudy, it just adds character and sexiness.

A few shops you should try to check out would be Armani Exchange, Express, Target, Nordstrom and Gap.

Don't copy your friend. Fashion is a unique thing and with so many great clothing options out there you have to be positive that you are asserting your own unique sense of style into everything you wear. If you are unsure about being able to pull things off, then gradually change your wardrobe. Start with a pair of flats for one week. Try a different kind of shirt then you'd typically wear. Don't do it all at once. Remember that bright colors, even tie dye style are what's in right now.

If ever in doubt, just snap your fingers and work the runway! It's the confidence that makes a girl hot.

 XOXO

The GHD Mini

April 28, 2008

GHD's are professional brand flat irons. This means that they are products that are high quality enough to be used in salons and sold strictly through professional channels. This is reflected through a number of factors.

The GHD mini is an amazing little styling tool. While working a trendshow for Nordstrom I was actually able to use this little guy. I used the promotional pink one which is the same except for the color. It's adorably small and convenient for travel. At it's maximum heat setting (which exceeds 400 degrees) you will only need to slide it down the hair and your hair will be instantly straightened.

Most at home flat irons that you would purchase from the drug store heat up to around 250 degrees and this forces most hair types to need multiple strokes to achieve the desired straightened effect. With this little GHD it's one flick of the wrist and you're done.

The product is a little pricy, even in comparison to professional flat irons. It is however an excellent product that boasts all of the fantastic ceramic and tourmaline features of most flat irons, as well a a two year warranty. This product also has an advanced "infra-red" heat that will lock in your hair's natural oils to make it gorgeous, shiny and straight.

I would reccomend shopping around on a flat iron. I think the GHD is great, but I would love for any readers out there to be able to get the most value out of the product. Is it something you will use every day for the next two years? Or is it something you will use a couple times a month or only on occasion?

5 Mainstream Must Haves

April 25, 2008

We all love prestige cosmetics such as Clinique, MAC, Smashbox, and Elizabeth Arden but everyone knows that there are many mass market cosmetics that work like gems. It can be hard to find the gold through hundreds of less then perfect products so I have found five fantastic buys for all my readers. Next time you pass by your local Walgreen's make sure that you remember these five must haves!

 1. Covergirl Smoothers Concealer

This fun and handy little concealer comes disquised in a lipstick style twist up tube. As a concealer it works well due to it's creamy and easy to blend texture. Where this product really turns into quality is when you apply it to the eye lid and then smooth it out with the finger as your eyeshadow base. Your eyeshadow color will stay stronger and longer! You can also apply it to the lips before your regular lip colors to help create a nuder lip. For $5.99 girl that is a steal!

2. Wet N Wild Jumbo Juicy Flavored Lip Balm

This great little treats from Wet N Wild come in a fat tube of goodness. This lip balm is very moisturising, hydrating, and it tastes oh so good! After buying one for $2.99 and loving it I had to go back to buy more flavors. Right now my favorites are Grape and Strawberry. I also love how unlike many petroleum based lip balms, it doesn't make your lips dependent upon the product to stay luscious.

3. Nyx Felt Tip Liner

For $7.00 applying your eye liner has never been more hot or simple. The felt tip is smooth and allows for  very easy control over the dispersion of the product. It glides on as easily as a pencil but without the mess of your own brush or one of those liquid eyeliner bottles where it's like you're dipping the wand into ink. You will have fantastic eyes at a fraction of the cost.

4. Rimmel London's Extra Super Lash Mascara

With Rimmel's new Underground I had stuck pretty faithfully to their more urban and hip oriented product line. Then I saw this bad boy and had to give it a shot! This mascara is perfect for creating thick and volumous lashes. What I particularly love about it is the fact that it is 100% buildable so you can keep reapplying until you reach the desired effect. Here is where we all need to cheer: this mascara only costs $3.19.

5. Revlon Custom Creations Foundation

In the past when I have bought foundations I have had to deal with the fact that the color I had would not work on me a week from the day I used it. In the winter I am pale, in the summer I am tan. If I go on vacation or go tanning then it also affects how that foundation will work on me, so I used to buy 3 shades and spend a million dollars. With this bottle, you twist their pretty little cap and you can adjust the color of your foundation. This allows you to create up to 5 different shades from one bottle of foundation. It is a lightweight formula and boasts an SPF of 15. Oh and the pleasurable price of $13.99 is always something to smile about.

Secrets to Beautiful Hair

April 24, 2008

As long as people have had hair it has been used as another method of asserting one's personal style. Gorgeous and lusterous hair has never been easier to obtain then it is today. In this article I am going to share a couple easy tips to improving the quality of your hair.

While I was at Ed Wyse I would listen to the selling techniques the stylists I worked with would use. One of these little tid bits I picked up went something like this "It is my personal belief that good haircare begins with your shampoo and conditioner". It does! After working at a beauty supply house I am able to appreciate the difference between salon quality product and drug store product, and I know that you would be able to as well.  Now I know that salon product prices can be daunting at times so just take a look at some of the ingredients in your shampoo of choice. One of the biggest things to look for is if one of the first couples ingredients is "ammonium sulfate".  This ingredient is for creating a lather, but it is also cheap and harsh. Just look at the ingredients. Don't buy something with ammonium sulfate in it, and try to grab things with delicious extracts in them!

Don't shampoo your hair every day! Shampoo is a cleaner and if you use it every day you can strip your hair of the proteins and oils that it needs to be healthy and vibrant. Try shampooing every other day or twice a week. If you feel that your hair gets too oily then try using conditioner on the middle and ends of the hair and not towards the scalp. You could also try using a dry shampoo such as Oscar Blandi's to prevent that greasy look without stripping the hair.

One last tip! Watch your diet. What you eat directly relates to the health of your hair. Is your hair too oily? Maybe those oily fries we had with lunch are to blame. If you eat a balanced diet and drink lots of water then your hair will love you for it.

Function and Fashion

Function and Fashion:

Looking For the Perfect Shoe

Everyone wants fun and gorgeous footwear! But how often do girls find those perfect heels that hurt like hell? This blog is all about finding the shoe that combines comfort and class, fashion and function, to give you the ultimate foot experience. Let's talk!

An old tip I learned from some stylist friends of mine is to look for shoes with a raised toe. I've noticed this trend has become a lot more common, especially when places like Payless Shoe Source start carrying them. By raising the toe the shoe encourages the natural gripping motion of the feet causing them to be much more ergonomically friendly.

There are lots of great shoes and fun styles out there. One place you definitely need to head over to is Naturalizer. They are a concept shoe store for the Brown Shoe Company. Their shoes are the most comfortable shoes on the market and they are always working to stay hot on the latest fashion. Most of their shoes are modestly priced, with lows of $20 and highs of around 350$ Featured on the left is one of their classic "Akin" style shoes. Enjoy!

Bliss Fat Girl Slim

March 17, 2008

Since my last article was about lipo-dissolve, I thought I would continue with this whole slimming down kick. Our bodies our beautiful and I think that all people should love themselves enough to realize that surgery is not the answer to everything. Right here for you I have a real product that delivers real results.

Bliss is a gorgeous spa with several locations internationally. Their spa treatments are world renowned and extremely successful. As such, it was only a natural step for them to bottle up their spa secrets and make them available to the world. One of them is this deliciously slimming product that is humorously called Fat Girl Slim.

Bliss Fat Girl Slim will not make you "lose weight". I just wanted to clear the air. Over time the fact cells in our bodies tend to pick up and bulge out on toxins causing them to swell to a size that is not proper for them. Fat Girl Slim delivers a specially encapsulated caffeine molecule that helps the body remove those toxins from the fat cell. By removing the toxins our fat cells shrinking which makes our bodies look thinner. Amazing? I think so!

This is SO my cream of the week.

Lipo: Fact and Fads

March 15, 2008

Lipo is a really difficult thing!

It does work as a temporary fat removing solution.

After trying countless diets and constant excercise you can't seem to remove those few "problem" areas, you might consider getting a lipo dissolution treatment.

Lipo-dissolve should not be used for pregnant women, nursing mothers, obese patients; or people with diabetes, autoimmune diseases, vascular complications, or infections of any kind. It is important to note that lipo-dissolve is not an appropriate treatment for large areas of fat. In addition, it is recommended that all lipo-dissolve candidates participate in a proper diet and regular exercise program.

The reason for that being this: Let's say for the sake of argument that you're 160lbs. After going through the treatment you drop down to 145 lbs. Well, your body isn't stupid. It knows you removed the fat. Now if you keep the same diet and excercise routine that had you at 160, it's going to just put that weight right back on. The scary part is that, instead of it going back to the "problem" areas, it will find a new home. Had it removed from the stomach? You just might get "bye-bye" arms from hell.

Healthy lifestyle choices is always the best answer, and if you need the treatment on the side to give you the kick, go for it.

Make sure to get a good doctor.

While lipo-dissolve may be one more potential tool that plastic surgeons may use, there are still many considerations that require further investigation before the FDA will approve lipo-dissolve. Here are some tips to consider when consulting a doctor: Review the doctor's credentials, education, training, type of certification held, and the number of times that the treatment has been performed in the practice.

Many people get through it just fine. But it is a temporary answer to a permanent problem. I want to see all people love themselves and treat their bodies as the beautiful creations that they are!

The Buzz On Minerals

February 29, 2008

There are a wide variety of mineral make ups out there from Bare Escentuals to Purminerals. They are all excellent products and after having used them in a dozen makeovers I would reccomend them for nearly everybody. Most cosmetics lines have jumped on this "mineral makeup" band wagon so before you decide to go mineral, I would try to make sure that the brand you are choosing is a reputable one.

I would not reccomend using Sheer Cover. Their products aren't as natural as they would like you to believe. I would also reccomend double checking certain drugstore mineral cosmetics because I have known many of them to have talc, which is one of the ingredients that people turn to mineral makeup to avoid.

The minerals in mineral makeup start out in the appearance of a powder, but don't be fooled! The specially designed brushes help to break down this powder into a natural mineral state. It is very quick, easy, and extremely light on the face. If applied correctly you can get FLAWLESS light to medium coverage. Many people prefer Purminerals to Bare Minerals due to the heavier coverage that Purminerals offer as well as the fact that Purminerals can be bought in a compact.

Because it is a mineral and not a powder the minerals are able to actually go into the skin. The skin benefits from these amazing minerals, and you can tell in the healthy glow that people who wear it have. When I used to do makeovers with the product it always produced great results and was feather light. So many makeups can come on thick and even when they look good they don't always feel good. Mineral make up feels good.

Mineral make up also does not have any added fragrance, talc, oil, preservatives or other skin irritants. If you are easily allergic to certain cosmetics, mineral makeup would be the way for you to go. Most mineral makeups also have a natural SPF usually in a range of about SPF 5-15. So if you wanted makeup or foundation with a little SPF to it but are allergic to the chemical SPF, which many people are, this would also be a nice alternative.

Why mineral makeup is great:

1. Good coverage.

2. Heals the skin.

3. Provides a natural look.

4. Very comfortable/feather light.

5. Much quicker to use then traditional makeup.

Enjoy your cosmetic adventures!

Better Than Baby Doll

February 22, 2008

What's better than a baby doll top? Tunic style shirts of course. They come in a variety of different fabrics, colors, styles and patterns to fit the desire of any fashionista.

This Spring and Summer before you head out for some fun you need to grab a couple! These shirts are excellent because they are easy to wear with just about anything, easy to accesorize and they can be just flat out stylish. Try some fun long necklaces, or that gaudy ring you were always scared to wear. If you are afraid of your thin hips then try a tunic that has a belted waist, or by your own to give yourself some curves. If you already have some curves, then work it girl! Big sunglasses, big earrings and big hair are all things we need to look forward to for the upcoming season. Many fashion forecasters predicted a surge in popularity for the "White Tee" shirt to come back in style. Why not be ahead of the curve and put your own twist on that?

Wear the baby doll tops in moderation. They had their fun in the sun, and are slowly starting to phase out. I can definitely say that there were many very cute tops out there and many more cute ones will probably come out. However being "cute" is not what the summer is for and that top is surely going down hill. If you don't believe me, think of what Britney Spears likes to wear when she runs out to pick up some scratchers.

Skin Care 101: An Introduction to Beautiful Skin

We all want healthy vibrant skin. Well most people do. But for some it's a lot easier to just wish for. I know that growing up, my mom didn't really teach me anything about how to maintain my appearance or skin or anything and sadly my early teens were a time where I could have used it. People all ages could use tips for getting good skin. That's what I am here to discuss with you!

The first and best way to have good skin is to lead a healthy life style. This means eating balanced meals, drinking plenty of water, excercising and avoiding vices like smoking and drinking alcohol. I'm not going to tell you how to live your life or quote crazy statistics but I am going to say that one of the easiest and best things you could do for your body is make a concsious effort to drink plenty of water. It cleans out your system and will impact your face in a positive way.

Now let's talk about a skin care regimen! A basic skin care regimen will consist of a cleanser, toner and a moisturiser.

A cleanser at it's most elementary level is designed to remove the impurities from the surface of your skin. Depending on your skin type, or specific skin problems such as acne, blackheads, oiliness, there are a million cleansers specifically designed for your face. Most people would reccomend cleansing twice a day. Once in the morning and once before bed is considered proficient. I have found it beneficial to use a cleanser that has exfoliating properties because it removes the excess layers of dead nasty skin on the surface and really breaks down the impurities.

A toner is something to use after cleansing that will help balance the skin and keep it soft and hydrated. Most people will argue the importance of this step. Some swear by it, some say water works best. I'd say that you need to figure out what works for you and your individual skin type. I have personally had great results with a rosewater toner that I can just lightly mist on my face.

Moisturising is key and if you skip this step then I will come after you! Moisturising is important because many times cleansing can take out a lot of the natural oils that you need in your skin to keep it healthy and so by moisturising you are rehydrating and balancing your skin now that it's fresh and clean. Many people think that because they have oily skin that this step is not neccesary for them, but don't be fooled! Usually when the skin on our face is dried out, our body will go into overdrive producing oils to hydrate it. Oily skin could be a sign that you aren't keeping yourself properly moisturised. I found that if I used a little bit of moisturiser in the morning, the oil levels on my face stayed extremely regulated.

I went to Bath and Body Works and a young woman there reccomended the Patricia Wexler exfoliated face wash to me and so I took it home and tried it out. It worked incredibly well! I would reccomend the entire line. It's also fairly affordable for the quality of product you are getting. I know many lines, like Clinique and Skin MD can get costly, but I don't think that grabbing Clean & Clear is the answer either. Patricia Wexler's line is probably in between the price points of Clean & Clear and Clinique, but it performs better then anything I've seen in a long time.

Stay tuned for Skin Care 235 where I plan on getting into the ingredients and even more detailed skin care regimens! lol. Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you were able to benefit from this article.

Cost of A Flat Iron

February 10, 2008

A good flat iron will be ceramic and have tourmaline technology in it.

You will not find a quality flat iron for less then $80.

One commonly known flat iron is the Chi. I would not reccomend this for anybody. The Chi markets itself as being the first fully ceramic flat iron when in fact all of their flat irons are only ceramic plated. Working in the beauty industry, I have heard dozens of horror stories of the Chi frying off girls hair in beauty school because it has only ONE temperature setting and that is 400 degrees. There are proper ways to use these flat irons and I would only reccomend them for those who are professionally trained.

My favorite flat iron right now is a brand called Turbo Ion which runs for about $150. It is actually fully ceramic and then coated with titanium. It's pretty and pink and actually keeps the hair straight even after the hair has become wet. It's an amazing product.

Definitely call your local beauty supply houses that retail to the public. Sally's, Ed Wyse, Karin's. Check out places like Sephora because they sell the professional brands such as GHD. Don't get something from the grocery store because I promise that you will get a product that is exactly what you pay for. Meaning it will be an offbrand like Con Air and Revlon, or it will be the retail knockoffs of the big brands like Tigi, Hair Art, Itely and even the Chi. Many times these do not have the same heating options, they don't heat as highly as their professional counterparts and they snag on the hair. Not always, but that is usually the case. However if you are willing to cheat yourself out of a quality product, then you could probably find one for about $30.

Many people go for the big paddles because they think that helps. That's not true. Consider it like this, you're supposed to run the iron down the hair, so it covers the entire strand. What difference will it make if the paddle covers more of the strand if it's just going to go down the hair anyway?

Things to look for: Is it ceramic? Is it tourmaline? Does it use ionic technology? Is it wet to dry?

Looking into thermal protectants or products to aid your styling endeavors. Thermafuse is an amazing line to check out because it actually HEALS the hair with the heat of the iron. Hope that helps! Good luck on the flat iron hunt!

Benefit No Bueno!

February 6, 2008

Just a word to the wise! I have seen awful things escaping from the Benefit counter recently!

Working at Sephora, we carried a wide variety of products. One of them was Benefit. Honestly, I love the Benefit product and I think it works amazingly well. They've got a gorgeous range of relatively neutral colors, and they have great "Fake-its & Fix-its". What they are lacking is in quality employees to sell the product.

During my time at Sephora I was down selling Bare Minerals, which is excellent product too. A young lady came in, she had a gorgeous dress on, but her face was messed up! She was orange from foundation, her eyeliner was a creepy gray scraggle and I don't even need to get into details just know that she was not great! She asked me to save her, and girl please believe I did. I washed off her face and gave her a quick makeover, which resulted in a sale! Whoop whoop. During the time I was making her over, she told me that she was on her way to an important dinner and she had just gotten off work and decided to go to Macy's and have one of their girls make her over. She was unlucky enough to go to the Benefit counter, where they ruined her.

Wondering about whether this was common, I asked one of my co-workers who informed me that they get people coming in from the Benefit counter all the time complaining about how the people who worked for Benefit did a HORRIBLE job on them. Shocker! So I went online and looked up reviews, and sadly, while many of them speak wonders for the product they also speak very poorly of the employees.

Well Benefit, if you're ever ready for some quality customer service, hire Bradley!

XOXO

Do Lip Plumpers Really Work?

February 4, 2008

This was a question posed to me by a Myspace ad. Sadly enough. After considering it, I decided this would be a good thing to create a brief article about.

The short answer is "Yes, lip plumpers really do work".

Most lip plumpers work by stimulating the thin layer of skin on top of the lips. This draws blood cells up and gives the lips a more full appearance. Many lip plumpers contain collagen stimulating and moisturising ingredients that add to this plump pouty look. Moisturised lips look significantly fuller then their dried out counter parts. Numerous products claim to have this plumping effect, and from experience I can say that some definitely work better then others.

First off, I think products that contain menthol and other "minty" feeling/smelling ingredients don't work very well. A product that is well known is the Lip Venom by DuWop. It is a good product for lip plumping. BUT!!! 5/5 Stars will go to the Too Faced Lip Injection. This product can be found in Sephora, Ulta and off amazon.com. Too Faced cosmetics has a line of pseudo plastic surgery cosmetics that work frighteningly well. Their Lip Injection lip plumper is an incredible product. When first applied the plumper creates an almost stinging sensation that will instantly cause the lips to swell. Keep using it over time and I am willing to gurantee you will have a sexier pout then ever before. It has mineral oils and jojoba oils as well so you are getting those moisturising benefits on the side.

So lick those lips and work the runway sweetheart!

XOXO

About Me

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by my profile. My name is Sexii Bradley. I live in the adorable little city of Kent WA. How exciting is that?

I currently work for Boots Cosmetics. I am a Beauty Advisor at my own counter. It's pretty much an amazing company. I love what I do. I am going to school to become a dermatologist. Who knows, I could be the next Dr. Murad or Patricia Wexler.

In my love life I totally believe that I've been damaged. Do you have a first aid kit handy? I had a bad boyfriend who was abusive in pretty much every sense of the word and in my youth, although I guess I am still young, I was both naive and just stupid. I've grown a lot of self confidence, and a lot of love for myself since then and have been able to rise above that mess. Fortunately a new person has stepped into my life who lives up to every unrealistic expectation I place on a boy. Just kidding,

I have a big family full of people who I love and people who I don't care for very much. My aunties mean a lot to me, they were there for me when nobody else was. I have amazing grandparents and cousins and uncles and so many people who are in my life. My mom and little brother live in Rugby England. James is in England too, unfortunately. My mom married a wonderful man named Stuart who I would be proud to call dad. I am glad that Bu is able to have such a positive role model in his life.

This is my personal blog. I have it here to discuss my life, art, and beauty. I love the topic of beauty mainly because that is my chosen career path. So get with it!
